Stress & Regrets
Large events, especially weddings are very emotionally charged events. They are wonderful happy times that you’ll never forget! Not every day leading up to those events are easy or a party, there are moments things are sometimes overlooked and some things can be stressful. Its important to remember to take deep breaths, stay hydrated and definitely get some sleep! Here is a list we have compiled of the top items from brides after their big day of the things they found the most stressful and what they wished they had done differently:
Stresses:
- Lodging for guests
- Seating Cards and Stationary
- Fighting with Vendors
- Vendors not responding in a timely fashion
- The wedding budget
- Narrowing the guest list
- Finding the “Right” bridesmaids dresses
- Picking gifts for the Wedding Party
Regrets:
- Not making a budget before starting to book vendors
- Not making a list of priorities before starting
- Maxing out credit cards to pay for the wedding
- Rushed planning
- Saved a little more on the wedding to put towards the honeymoon or a house
- Not being organized, because there is so much to do
- Not buying/bringing a comfy pair of shoes to wear the day of the wedding
- Not having the photographer do table shots
- Relenting to the pressure of family and friends
- Conflicts regarding whether to have a more traditional or modern wedding
- Not having the pre-wedding events and wedding in the desired style(s)
- Having a large time lapse between the ceremony and the reception
- Members from the wedding party missing the cocktail hour for photos
- Picking, quite possibly, the heaviest bouquet
- Ordering the dress size that you plan to be on your wedding day instead of your size and having it fitted as needed
